Quickstart
From an empty wallet to a margined position in a few minutes, on the Robinhood Chain testnet. The desk is open continuously, so there is no session to wait for: every step below works at any hour.
Demo mode, zero setup
Open the desk without connecting anything and you are in demo mode: the app views a seeded demo account so every screen shows a live book immediately. It is the fastest way to see the ticking debit, the margin figures and the markets list before touching a wallet.
Connect to the testnet
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Robinhood Chain Testnet |
| Chain id | 46630 |
| RPC | https://rpc.testnet.chain.robinhood.com |
| Currency | ETH |
| Explorer | explorer.testnet.chain.robinhood.com |
Add the network to your wallet, fund it with testnet ETH for gas, and connect on the Account page. Every listed asset is a test token with a public faucet(), so collateral is free to mint.
Your first position
- Deposit collateral. From the desk overview, deposit a collateral asset. Custody sits in your margin account contract, not a pooled wallet; withdrawals are allowed whenever equity stays at or above initial margin.
- Check your buying power. The overview shows the USDG you can draw against the basket and the current margin rate. Each asset carries one initial requirement that never changes with the clock, so the buying power you see at 3am is the buying power you see at noon.
- Buy an asset. Pick a market, enter a dollar amount, and review the order ticket: it previews the debit after, buying power after, and the venue fill against the Chainlink mark before you confirm. Fills route through the asset's Uniswap pool in one transaction.
- Watch the debit tick. The margin screen shows interest accruing every second and the time of the next daily charge, which runs every day at 00:00 UTC, weekends included.
A buy typically fills about 0.6% above the mark: the pool's 0.3% fee plus the small premium the pools rest at. Sells net out at the mark. The ticket shows the exact gap on every order, so nothing about the fill is a surprise.
Depositing to the vault instead
If you would rather fund the desk than trade on it, the Cash vault page takes USDG deposits at NAV. Your deposit earns the interest margin users pay, less the protocol share; withdrawals queue for 2 days and pay at claim-day NAV, served strictly in request order.
